Set up over USB
Give it the time. Let it stay in time.
Connect the installed clock to set its time from this computer. Add Wi-Fi for automatic time updates.
No clock connected.
A clock with a small pause.
The seconds hand completes its lap in 58 seconds, waits at twelve, then sets off as the minute hand advances. The firmware gets UTC time from pool.ntp.org and applies your selected timezone.
Connection or installation trouble?
- Close serial monitors and the installer dialog before opening clock setup. Only one connection can use the USB port at a time.
- If the board is missing from the picker, try a USB data cable. To enter download mode, hold BOOT while resetting the board, then release BOOT.
- If Wi-Fi does not connect, check the network name, password, and 2.4 GHz availability.
- Without Wi-Fi, the clock continues locally. Its RTC keeps time across resets while it remains powered.
Hardware, accuracy & development
Verified on V2 hardware with CO5300 display and CST820-family touch. The 180 ms minute-hand advance is an adjustable approximation. Frame rate varies with hand angle; this firmware does not sustain 60 fps. Source builds use ESP-IDF v5.5.2.
